Est. 2001, we are Guernsey’s Breast Cancer Charity, raising awareness for the early detection of breast cancer, and offering support to anyone affected in the Bailiwick.
Checking yourself is easy and could make all the difference. Early detection saves lives.

“My breast cancer had been growing for 18 months when I was diagnosed. If I had checked regularly, my outcome would have been far better”

Supporting you
Since being founded in 2001, the incredible generosity of the Bailiwick community has raised nearly a million pounds, a clear testament to the compassion that exists among us. This vital support enables us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. By driving awareness for early detection, and supporting those affected.
In the Community
Playing an active role in our island community is really important to us. Whether it’s events, support groups, or suggesting all kinds of resources to navigate a breast cancer diagnosis, we want to be there for anyone affected. Feeling isolated and alone is really common, our aim is to create a safe space for people to connect.
Raising Awareness
We want to help as many people as we can to recognise anything unusual as early as possible and do something about it. Early detection is fundamental to increasing the number of successful outcomes. Educating on the signs and symptoms and encouraging regular self checks is our goal. Breast cancer is most treatable in its initial stages so being confident in knowing what to look for and how to do it, empowers us all to get medical advice promptly.
How well do you know your body?
Try to do self-checks every month; it’s a great way to get to know your body so you can pick up any changes fast.

Children are very resilient and respond much better to hearing the truth. There are a few amazing support routes that we would highly recommend…
Speak to their school. It’s likely they will have measures in place to support your child emotionally and practically whilst at school.
The Youth Commission run a group called the Navigators. These events bring families together to understand the resources available for their children and for them.
If your child is having trouble managing their emotions, there is a 8 week programme called Indigo available to 8-11 year olds.

We are dedicated to providing not just financial assistance, but also emotional support and essential resources. From funding state-of-the-art equipment for the breast unit to offering thoughtful gifts and direct financial aid for patients, our initiatives are designed to uplift and support individuals during their journey. Together, we strive to create a warm and supportive environment where no one has to face breast cancer alone.
A note on terms we use:
Breast cancer can affect anybody, which is why we may alternate the term to be actively inclusive in our language. The word ‘chest’ is inclusive of all bodies and genders, when we need to be clinically accurate we will use the word ‘breast’, and you may also see ‘boobs’ used in our communications.
