Our Story.

Where it all started…

The Pink Ladies charity, a proud member of the Association of Guernsey Charities (membership no. 252), was established in 2001 by a group of local women undergoing breast cancer treatment. They sought to create a safe, comforting, and supportive environment for others facing similar challenges. Embracing the spirit of camaraderie, they chose the name "The Pink Ladies," inspired by the powerful symbol of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Their passion and drive were fueled by a heartfelt desire to create a welcoming community where women could come together, share their experiences, and uplift one another. Through their dedication, they established a nurturing space that continues to support and inspire hope among those affected by breast cancer in The Bailiwick of Guernsey.

2025 and beyond…

While our commitment to supporting individuals after diagnosis remains unwavering, we recognise the need to adapt to the changing landscape of health awareness and self-care. Evolving what the charity stands for, our focus has turned to empowering our community to be proactive about their breast health. The amazing dedication of the Pink Ladies is to raise as much awareness as we can in order to educate from an early age, influencing confidence in spotting changes that could indicate health concerns, changes that could massively impact someone's life at the drop of a hat. By prioritising the encouragement of early detection, our vision is to positively impact lives by detecting breast cancer as early as possible.  Preventing, preparing and protecting our island community.
